Bald Mountain, a Willie B. Lewis design, opened in 1974. Woods border most of the holes. The rolling fairways are covered with bermudagrass, the greens with bentgrass. The course layout presents a particular emphasis on hitting it straight off the tee. The 17th hole might be the most difficult on the course. A solid 423 yards from the tips, the problem with this par 4 is the stream that bisects the fairway at about 100 yards from the green. There's also water short left and right, plus a couple of bunkers in front of the shallow green. A bogey isn't a bad score here. |
